'Alien' with no commercial interruptions

In space, and occasionally at the FAC, no one can hear you scream.

We will be screening Alien, an all-time classic on Tuesday, March 2, at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. Cash bar opens at 5 p.m., movie at 6 p.m. Five bucks for FAC members; $7 for non-members

A landmark of science fiction and horror, Alien arrived in 1979 an instant classic, offering richly detailed sets, ominous atmosphere, relentless suspense, and a flawless ensemble cast as the crew of the space freighter, who fall prey to a vicious creature. Impeccably directed by Ridley Scott, Alien is one of the cinema's most unforgettable nightmares.

Dear Docent ...

Dear Docent:

Thank you for showing me around the Art Museum. I learned that art can be funny and art can be sad. Like the dog in the space suit. I am woundiring why an artest go so close to a space ship.

Colorado Springs, we have a problem.

Actually, the only problem you have tonight is deciding what type of popcorn to get. Tonight the FAC is screening the nine-time Academy Award nominated, Apollo 13.
Complimentary popcorn of various flavors. For the last movie we had three topping choices: white cheddar, cinnamon and the classic butter-and-salt.
Cash bar opens at 5 p.m.; movie at 6 p.m. It's part of the NASA ART film series. Just $5 for FAC members and $7 for non-members.
